GUIDELINES FOR INTERNATIONAL CARGO OPERATIONS

BY PRIVATE INDIAN OPERATORS FROM/TO INDIA

  1. The following guidelines have been approved by the Government for granting permission to private Indian operators to undertake international cargo operations from India to foreign destinations:-

  1. The services will be operated on non-scheduled basis.
  2. These services will be operated outside the purview of the bilateral Air Services Agreements.
  3. The necessary authorisation for operation of the services will be obtained by the operator directly from the foreign aeronautical authorities concerned. For this purpose, DGCA, India may give the operator the necessary letter of introduction enclosing copies of relevant documents.
  4. The operation of these services will not confer any right on the operator for allotment of slots on grounds of historicity.

  1. Any private Indian operator who holds a valid Operating Permit for cargo operations issued by DGCA and plans to operate cargo flights to foreign destinations in accordance with these guidelines may make an application to the office of Director General of Civil Aviation for grant of permission, giving necessary details of the proposed operation, such as the type of aircraft, route, the flight dates and timings etc. At least 10 days prior notice shall be required for processing such applications.
