     Knowledge of the general principle employed in the operation 
     of autopilot system.

     Knowledge  of the construction and functioning of all  types 
     hydraulic and electrical autopilots.

     Detailed knowledge of the methods of carrying out  overhauls 
     and repairs to autopilots.

     Detailed  knowledge of the inspections necessary  to  detect 
     defects in autopilots; operation, adjustment and  rectifica-
     tion of the defects and steps taken to prevent recurrence.

     Knowledge of the inspection of components/ parts of  autopi-
     lots.

     Knowledge of the equipments/ instruments/ rigs required  for 
     testing  the autopilots and detailed knowledge of the  meth-
     ods/  procedures  employed in carrying out  the  functional/ 
     serviceability  tests of the autopilot system after  repair/ 
     overhaul.

     Knowledge of the selection and inspection of materials  used 
     in  the  construction,  repair and  overhaul  of  autopilot.

     Knowledge of the interpretation of circuit diagrams.

     Knowledge  of  the  conventional  methods  of   calibrating/ 
     adjusting and testing of autopilots.
